Project Summary

The groups received a grant in 2008 to link community development, youth leadership development, public health, and a local sustainable agriculture to create a local food policy council to guide the effort and ensure broad community support and engagement.Partnering with community groups in Mattapan the Farm pooled ideas and resources to develop the Mattapan Food Systems Council. New distribution strategies will be explored and piloted and a farm to school program and low-income CSA will be developed.
