Like many other small businesses, farmers and food entrepreneurs face numerous challenges in their day-to-day operations, and often cannot afford legal representation when important legal issues arise. The Conservation Law Foundation started the first-in-the-nation Legal Food Hub to provide free legal services to income-eligible farmers and food entrepreneurs facing legal issues in Maine, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This presentation will explain how the Legal Food Hub works, describe the legal issues it seeks to solve and provide real-life success stories of how it has helped famers and food entrepreneurs navigate their legal challenges.
Deliverables:
- Learn about the legal resources available from Conservation Law Foundation’s Legal Food Hub
- Identify legal issues that may face farmers, food entrepreneurs and food-related businesses
- Explore the ways other small businesses have connected with lawyers and solved legal problems
