North Danville Brainerd Memorial Library
Our Purpose
Our library has been working hard to become more than a place to check out books. We are building a stronger presence in our community by providing resources, programs, and opportunities that are accessible to everyone—regardless of age or financial circumstances.Over the past year, we offered more than a dozen free workshops and events for both children and adults. These included crafting programs, author visits, illustrator visits, movie nights, family game nights and more. We have been amazed by the response from our community. We have also expanded the types of resources available for patrons to borrow and would like to continue adding item patrons can check out. Library membership is free and open to everyone. Our growing collection now includes: LEGOS, STEAM backpacks, board games, yard games and CD players. These resources have opened doors for families who may not otherwise have access to these types of educational materials, games, and activities. This is something we want to continue building on.The response from our community by offering the things we have so far has shown us that there is a real need and desire for these opportunities. We started with an idea. Our community showed us that it matters. Now we want to keep growing it.
