Refugee Women's Center
Our Purpose
The Refugee Women’s Center empowers refugees and immigrants from all countries in the Greater Hartford, CT area to overcome the challenges of resettlement and build lives of stability, independence, and belonging. While our programs are centered on supporting women, we recognize that strong families and communities thrive when everyone has access to opportunity. Our services benefit women, men, and children as they build their lives in the United States. We walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the complexities of life in a new country, connecting them to language instruction, employment and educational opportunities, basic needs, healthcare, public benefits, and other essential resources. Through individualized guidance, advocacy, and practical support, we help people develop the skills and confidence to navigate American systems, make informed decisions, and advocate for themselves and their families. We foster a safe and welcoming community where people can find connection, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. We believe successful integration does not require people to leave their culture behind. We honor the traditions, values, and identities that individuals bring with them while helping them build meaningful and independent lives in the United States. Through empowerment, advocacy, and connection, we help individuals and families move toward greater self-sufficiency, opportunity, and belonging.
