Vijana Revival Catalysts (VRC) exists to empower young people to become transformational leaders in their communities by building meaningful relationships, discovering their purpose, developing their gifts, and serving others.We formed VRC because we believe young people, especially those growing up in immigrant, newcomer, and under-resourced communities, often have tremendous potential but limited access to safe spaces, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and supportive relationships that help them thrive. Too often, youth are viewed mainly through the challenges they face instead of the strengths, ideas, and leadership they already carry.Our goal is to create environments where young people feel that they belong, are supported by trusted adults and peers, and are given meaningful opportunities to lead. We use approaches such as sports, mentorship, wellness, leadership development, and community service because they create practical ways for young people to build confidence, relationships, and a sense of responsibility for their communities.Ultimately, we want to see young people move from being participants in programs to becoming coaches, mentors, organizers, and community leaders who create opportunities for the next generation.
