Our purpose is to provide access to resources, activities, social events to all our older neighbors that offer support and enrichment in their lives. ASCC has been around for just under 50 years, relying 100% on volunteers. Internet and technology access has changed the way we operate, especially in the last 5 years. Some of our 'younger seniors' have technology skills and volunteer in a new way. ASCC asked for volunteers to look for grants and it has been a successful.  After input from our members, the Board of Directors has a wish list that the committee keeps in mind as we look for grants. Our membership numbers are growing. Please note that one does not have to be a member to participate in most of our activities and lunches.Growing membership numbers are great but does come with challenges. We would like to purchase more chairs and tables. We would swap out some older plastic chairs for new metal folding chairs, which are safer and more comfortable.  A few new tables would also help to lessen the crowding as folks could better manages their canes, walkers and such.Our members are so appreciative whenever we get a grant for their benefit. When we are able to provide something that will make their volunteer work more efficient they celebrate. They celebrated when we received new pots and pans. They were thrilled to be able to take a painting class. This is the reason we volunteer our time as we know they appreciate that we are doing this for them.
