Our main intention is to make a useful little place for folks who are curious about children’s literature and how publishing actually works, you know. We’d like authors, illustrators, educators, parents, and also people in publishing to come together and share hands-on know-how about building stories, fine-tuning manuscripts, making drawings and illustrations, thinking through cover design, printing books, and finding ways to reach young readers.As a group, we hope to make the whole publishing journey less confusing for new, as well as experienced creators. The discussions can range across things like publishing options, age friendly storytelling, ISBNs, book rights, distribution, marketing, and those common pitfalls that people run into. We also really want to push for genuine, straightforward conversations about partnering with a children’s book publishing company, picking the right publishing model, and getting a manuscript ready for publication.So, the broader goal is to kind of build a supportive community where members can learn from real experiences (not just theory), trade useful resources, and also help one another to create better books for children.
