Our purpose is to create a new pathway to stability and opportunity for young adults transitioning out of foster care or who have already exited care, as well as other at-risk young adults, through workforce development, sustainable agriculture, and food-systems education while strengthening food access and community wellbeing in Vermont.Foster & Grow connects two needs that are often addressed separately: helping young adults build the skills, confidence, relationships, and employment experience needed for economic independence, and helping communities access fresh, locally grown food. Through hands-on training in controlled-environment agriculture, hydroponics, aquaponics, food safety, entrepreneurship, science, and leadership, participants will learn skills that translate into employment and greater self-sufficiency.Our long-term goal is to create a community-centered model where growing food also grows opportunity: strengthening young adults, increasing local food access, supporting healthier communities, and demonstrating a sustainable approach that can serve Vermonters for generations.
