Our purpose is to plan and develop Vermont's first freestanding birth center. Last May, a new VT law created a pathway to license freestanding birth centers, something we had advocated for, for more than seven years. The birth center will be the perinatal resource hub, safe space for low-risk births, and a community space for people to gome together and celebrate, support and educate.We are committed to making the Midwifery Model of Care accessible to all families by providing safe, respectful, and supportive care that honors each person’s autonomy, birth, and healthcare experience.Our Vision:We envision a future where every person has access to safe, equitable, and inclusive birth and reproductive healthcare regardless of geography, income, or background. In Vermont’s rural communities, we work to overcome barriers by expanding care through home visits, telehealth, and integrated mental health services. We strive to create an environment where people are empowered with information, supported in their choices, and treated with dignity. Through this approach, we aim to strengthen families, nurture wellness across the lifespan, and deepen the roots of community health.We are a small group of five midwife founders and have created this grassroots community rooted movement for the birth center model of care to be a choice for Vermonters.
