Our purpose is to...Create a vibrant community and local economy that cares deeply for our shared natural resources. We are committed to protecting clean air, clean water, and responsible development. We support transparency and independent verification for major development projects to protect the environment and ensure enforceable safeguards for the community and the environment, preventing ecosystem and community harm.We wish to host community clean-up events and picnics, Earth science fairs for the youth, free educational presentations, and documentary viewings. We are working closely with Slingshot to build a toolkit for organizing in our community in opposition of a mass sludge processing plant proposed to be sited along the Mousam River in our small, rural-suburban community and have established an amazing group of people to be a fundamental part of Sanford Clean Air & Water Coalition.
