Danbury Unites for Immigrants' (DUFI) goal is to protect, mobilize, educate, and build the power of our local immigrant community in Danbury in order to ensure their safety, especially in the midst of the increased anti-immigrant environment we are witnessing. DUFI is committed to ensuring that Danbury remains a safe and welcoming place to all immigrants. Our work as a collective is grounded in building the power of the Danbury immigrant community through community education and outreach, local and state-wide organizing strategies, and building a network of allies and co-conspirators committed to pushing the line and protecting our immigrant neighbors. The time for justice for our immigrant community is now, and we will fight to protect our communities and dismantle systems of oppression rooted in white supremacy, racism, and colonialism. We aim to create a community where all immigrants are able to use their power, are respected, and are valued. We aspire to build a cross-sector, multi-generational, and multi-racial resistance grounded on radical thinking, radical imagination, and radical love.DUFI is composed of local immigrant community leaders, immigrant residents, and allies who are committed to working together to protect and to build the power of Danbury’s immigrant community.
