Our Purpose

Pickup Trunk Productions, LLC is a queer-led community organizing organization that centers enviornmental justice, food justice, social justice, and safe and affirming queer community connection in the more rural and remote pockets of the northeast. Forrest, our founding member, is a social health researcher at Brown University, and their work is dedicated to the posititive health impacts of community connection, especially for marginalized communities. This year, we have shows in CT, MA, PA, NH, NY, RI, and VT, all in collaboration with queer-owned or queer-ally-owned farms. Though these projects, we aim to bring queer folks together in the face of a frightening political moment, draw attention and awareness to our venue partners' important work in local environmental and food justice, and raise funds for pressing social justice causes, including but not limited to ending the genocide in Palestine and resisting ICE detention of our migrant communities in the US. Last year we raised $13,500 across our 10 events, and with our 18 events this year we hope to set our standard even higer. Funding support form the Grassroots Fund would aid in providing our tech equipment and infrastructure for our shows, so that a larger proportion of our sales can go directly to our fundraising goals.
