Our Purpose

Salt and Light was created in response to the growing needs in our community. There are needs for connection, support, and access to the most basic resources. When we initially started, we saw our neighbors facing isolation, financial stress, family instability, and barriers to basic wellness, often without a safe space to turn for help. Our group came together to create a community hub where people can find practical support, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Our biggest goal is to strengthen our community by reducing isolation, meeting tangible needs, and supporting our neighbors. Through several supportive programs, support groups, resource sharing, and community get-togethers, we work to ensure our community members feel noticed, supported, and empowered. We focus on listening to community voices and forming our programs around expressed needs. From parenting and dementia support groups to fitness classes, financial education, youth programs, and our low-cost thrift shop, our work is guided by local input and sustained through volunteer leadership.Ultimately, we seek to build a stronger, tighter community where people are supported in times of need and equipped to contribute to the well-being of others.
