Our Purpose

The ARC serves Middlesex County by offering recovery resources to those with substance use disorder (SUD), i.e. alcoholism and drug addiction, and their families.  The ARC ensures quality care for those who have an addiction through referrals to inpatient and outpatient services, including medical help, mental health care, detox centers, residential rehabilitation, and long-term sober living facilities.  We make vetted referrals for individuals seeking social services, e.g. food, housing, and employer-assisted services. The ARC operates in four capacities: 1) Licensed staff providing specialized referrals to rehabilitation, detox centers and social services, 2) Recovery Coach appointments for individualized support, 3) A meeting space providing multiple daily peer-support meetings, and 4) Conducting outreach to local communities, providing education about substance use disorders and their treatments. To build upon these essential services offered at the ARC, we created Project B.R.A.V.E. (Building Recovery Accessibility through Validation and Health Equity). This project builds upon the individualized Recovery Coach Services by providing free transportation to a detoxification facility, a Care Bag containing essential health and hygiene items, and emergency sober housing rental assistance. These services touch the addict at critical junctures in their recovery journey. Project B.R.A.V.E builds upon existing ARC services to fill the gaps.
