Our purpose is to raise funds that support and enhance the vision of the Sarah Roberts Elementary School. The new Sarah Roberts Elementary School will launch in September 2025 and is the first school merger within Boston Public Schools. The Sarah Roberts is unifying two elementary school communities each with deep roots, proud histories, and distinct cultures. In lead up to this significant transition, parents mobilized to start the Friends of the Sarah Roberts Elementary School Inc 501c3 to foster community support. As an entirely volunteer-led organization, the Friends seeks to raise funds for: community building events, vital classroom enrichment activities, teacher professional development, engaging educational excursions, surround support for our families in need, and much more for our children and families. The proud story of Sarah Roberts is rooted in our core values of education justice and racial equity, with focus on respect, kindness, perseverance, and responsibility. The school will serve over 700 students in grades K0-6 and include a new dual-language Spanish program.Our school has a new partnership with a community Forest Days provider, bringing our youngest students - 4 classrooms of 80 students- to nearby public green spaces in Boston on a weekly basis to experience nature to improve learning, personal development, and environmental stewardship. Our families are passionate about environmental justice, education justice, and racial equity.
