Our Purpose

We are securing a BIPOC Scholarship Fund for students who wish to attend Permaculture Design Certification Courses (PDC).  There are numerous programs offered each year (workshops, tours, evening talks, or 11 day certification programs) & the longer PDC is the most cost prohibitive for applicants. We wish to provide at least 2 full scholarships & 2 half scholarships for BIPOC applicants. The PDC provides: 1. skills to design for abundant homes and resilient communities, 2. direct experience at permaculture demonstration farms, homesteads, urban parks for local nutritious food production 3. practice of a guided ecological design project for real clients at residential & village sites.  All of these skills are a value to bring to a diversity of fields of work, such as agriculture, building, education, arts, social change, regenerative and just economy.  These skills can also be integrated into one's own home and community, with a focus on Food Sovereignty. Each student of the permaculture course holds a profound toolkit for regenerative action, and gains a network of support for their life work during the PDC. This Fund was created to ensure accessible education for all applicants to the BIPOC Scholarship. Sharing perennial agricutlure skills to restore our traditional land care connection is a step of empowerment.  We wish to remove the financial barriers that anyone in our BIPOC communities face, and award more participants with support.
