The Rockweed Center is a community center located in downtown Belfast, Maine.  Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming community environment thats meet several layers of needs that we have identified in our community.  We focus on building a resilient, joyful and connected culture that strives to be a refuge for all. We wanted to create a welcoming, donation-run, community-supported space that supports the activist and community-building work happening in our community that needs a physical home that is not someone's living room. We also wanted to create a space that generated unplanned social encounters, friendship-building, culture building, support for arts, ideas and classes, bridge-building between generations, and allyship and support for BIPOC community members.
