Our purpose is to…The mission of FAMILY Movement is to help families transition out of homeless shelters and into stable and permanent living arrangements by teaching and mentoring homeless people to become financially independent in order to end their homelessness. We serve families who are homeless, on the verge of becoming homeless, or are currently living in a homeless shelter. Participating in our program is voluntary, and clients are drawn from contracts with private and Emergency Assistance homeless shelters and word of mouth referrals. Once clients are referred through our intake system we then assess their status through a series of questions which rate their success. FAMILY Movement uses an extensive curriculum developed by the founders to instill the skills and tools necessary to transition out of the shelter and build a successful, stable future. This model is evidence-based, results-driven and backed by research. The curriculum is a series of workshops that focus on financial stability through credit building, money management, eliminating debt, education with computer training and GED certification, workforce development, and a Dress for Success work attire program. Our organization provides professional experts from these fields to each client to obtain a lifetime of sustainability and sustainability.
