St. Albans City Climate & Energy Committee
Our Purpose
Our group, the St. Albans Green Energy and Climate Committee (StAGECC), is trying to bring the Northwest Vermont Region community together to build low‑cost insulating window inserts, with a special focus on supporting low‑income Vermonters. The Norwest Region Window Dressers Build (NRWDB) is a collaborative, volunteer‑driven effort grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a warm, energy‑efficient home. Our overarching goal is to reduce heating costs, improve comfort, and cut fossil‑fuel pollution by producing custom interior storm windows through a community‑based model. Volunteers from all backgrounds—residents, churches, civic groups, and partner organizations—work side by side, strengthening local connections while directly addressing energy insecurity. This project brings together the St. Albans Green Energy and Climate Committee (StAGECC), the Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Third Act Vermont, and the WindowDressers nonprofit. Each partner contributes a shared commitment to climate action, energy efficiency, and community resilience. By combining their missions, we are able to expand access to practical, affordable weatherization solutions and engage residents in hands‑on climate work.We do this because improving home efficiency is one of the most immediate, tangible ways to lower energy burdens and build a more climate‑resilient Franklin County. With the help of the grassroots fund, we hope to give our community the tools to make that happen.
