The Permaculture Place, Inc.
Our Purpose
We provide a welcoming community resource center full of educational literature & resilience skills for visitors to gain a sense of community alliance & support when facing realities of climate change. This resource center distributes free literature, sells local up-cycled goods and books, offer guidance about how to live our lives in an ecological, resilient way. We promote area resources such as ways to support BIPOC community members, as well as local farms & plant nurseries. All visitors can access our center for free or by small donation. We are currently preparing an indoor exhibit area to display the resources, information, and community support that is available to all from the worldwide permaculture network. We demonstrate techniques for urban as well as rural settings, indoors as well as outdoors, and welcome visitors from near and far. We provide a meeting place for conversations that matter, where community can be empowered to take climate actions, rather than feel isolated and in despair. We value the ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share. We are committed to benefitting our local community with an outdoor garden exhibit that meanders through the Village over to the town park, as a model for regenerative agriculture and soil improving techniques, local perennial guilds of plants for food, medicine, fuel, native pollinator habitat, health and biodiversity. We welcome the greater community at events year round.
