Our goal is to serve all Maine home cooks with delicious, local, and environmentally conscious meal kits.Farm & Fish (launching mid-coast in May 2023) is a meal kit service: for Maine, from Maine. Ingredients are sourced from local farms, seafood producers, bakeries, and other suppliers as much as possible. Meals are interesting and delicious, and each week customers have a variety of options from which to choose (or can choose to be surprised with their meal selections). Kits include each meal's ingredients and its recipe and are delivered on a weekly basis to drop-off spots (or for an additional fee, delivered to a customer's home).  Farm & Fish is also committed to reusable packaging (stainless steel, glass) where possible. Packaging is collected from customers, sanitized, and reused for future kits. I have been a meal kit consumer for more than five years, having appreciated their convenience, diversity, and quality. The two major disappointments with existing meal kit services are 1) the inability to use a meal kit service and simultaneously support Maine food producers and 2) the high volume of packaging waste inherent in the one-way delivery system. Farm & Fish is an opportunity to leverage the value inherent in meal kit services while addressing the two major components described above that other services lack.
