Our Purpose

The Bend Revitalization Initiative was created by volunteers in 2018 when several residents of Greensboro Bend wanted the Greensboro Selectboard to pay more attention to the small challenged and underserved Bend community (as opposed to the larger village adjacent to Caspian Lake). With the Rail Trail passing through the  Bend, we hope that new business opportunities will provide residents needed jobs, and begin a period of increased vitality and resilience in the Bend.We received our 501(c)(3) certification in 2021, and we celebrated our first major project on September 15, 2024 with the opening of the Bend Trailhead and Mural. Our mission for Greensboro Bend is a) create jobs for local residents through new business development based upon the completion of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, b) make the Bend an attractive place for raising children, c) create a safe and enjoyable recreation experience for residents and visitors, and, d) Support development of  affordable housing in the Bend.See "Around the Bend" on Facebook, which contains details about our Trailhead and many followers!
