Our Purpose

We organized formally in 2021 in order to help stabilize and strengthen the Zambian community of families living in Maine. We are headquartered in Lewiston and we have group get-togethers in both the Portland area and the Lewiston area. Altogether, we are one of the smallest of the new immigrant groups coming to live and stay in Maine. We formed our group for one simple reason--every single ethnicity living in Maine has their own formal 501c3 looking out for their own interests. We need to be at the table and we need our voices raised as part of the solutions not just the problems. Every group in Maine started out small. And now they have 500 or more families living here. We expect hundreds more citizens from Zambia to come to New England and specifically to maine, and we want to be totally ready to be able to support all new immigrants whether Zambian, Ukrainian, or Afghanis.
