Our Climate empowers young people to advocate for science-based, equitable, and intersectional climate justice policies that build a thriving world. We know that climate change is going to disproportionately affect the lives of the youth, and we wanted to be able to give these youth a voice. Our programs and staff support young people to serve the communities most impacted by climate change by building grassroots coalitions, studying climate justice policy solutions, and making influential relationships with decision-makers to enact those solutions. We train our youth leaders how to advocate for climate justice policy through a variety of mechanisms, including legislative advocacy, media engagement, and coalition-building. Through these experiences, Our Climate develops seasoned youth organizers who are comfortable holding their elected representatives accountable for an equitable and prosperous future.
