Hampshire Mutual Aid Network
Our Purpose
We, the students and community of Hampshire College recognize a wealth disparity across Hampshire College Campus. As an organization we are responding to this by redistributing wealth, food, and other resources across the student body and campus community with the goal of social and racial justice and equity. We center BIPOC voices in our organization through a mixture of accountability measures, informal surveys, and connecting with identity groups across campus. Hampshire Mutual Aid Network is not a charity. Everyone in our organization brings what they can give to our community and takes what they need. We run a network for redistributing funds, redistributing food and hosting community based events like clothing swaps and buy-nothing events. As part of our values, we also stand in solidarity with other mutual aid and racial justice organizations in the area.
