Our Purpose

In 2004 my husband Byron, and I  were victims of a horrific tragedy that resulted in the loss of our daughter Aramah (Pronounced: A-Rhema), her nickname was Ramie, she was only2 years old and my only child. It was during that time, unfortunately, we discovered there were no resources available in their community to help survivors cope with such devastating losses to child abuse. Because of this, we decided to join forces in an attempt to remedy this problem. We are dedicated to changing what the "after-effects" of tragedy looks. Our mission is to restore lives to a NEW normal through compassion and with resources such as food, clothing, counseling, financial assistance and relocation,  if necessary. We know first hand the agony of losing a close love one, especially when its untimely, which is why, we are passionate about  helping others recover and move forward with their lives one day at a time. Our goal is to open a children's crisis center to assist in daily activities, homework, hygiene, etc.  Although we are still very new and in the infantry stage,  we were able, with the help and contributions of local businesses and individuals, to provide prepared meals to 80 senior citizens, individuals who are disabled, seniors and single parents. Also the Rhema Word Foundation gave out 30 Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets to families facing food insecurities and this holiday season we are providing Christmas gifts and dinners to 13 families.
