Warner River Local Advisory Committee
Our Purpose
Seeking a louder voice in local decision making regarding the Warner River, a local group banded together in 2016- 2017 to pursue a more resource protective, conservation related stance by nominating the Warner River for inclusion in the state of NH's Rivers Management and Protection Program. We were accepted into the program on August 7, 2018, and we were empaneled soon after to serve as volunteer guardians of the river. By state statute, our primary responsibilities are to: advise the NHDES and the five river front towns on matters pertaining to the management of the river and its resources, consider and comment on any federal, state, or local government plan to approve, license, fund,or construct facilities that would alter the river's resource value and characteristics, and develop a corridor management plan and have it adopted into the master plans of the five riverfront towns.
