Upper Valley Farmers, Organizers, and Landworkers of Color Collective
Our Purpose
The Upper Valley Farmers, Organizers, Landworkers of Color Collective (UVFOLCC) was conceived by a diverse group of Black organizers, land and cultural workers who wanted to create a network of support in the Upper Valley. We prioritize the wellbeing of BIPOC in our community, and the surrounding areas, due to the confluence of systemic oppressions, the coronavirus, and existing health disparities. Our work has been deeply inspired by the Northeast Farmers of Color Network, Soul Fire Farm in Upstate New York, and Just Transition strategies. UVFOLCC is a network that contains several semi-autonomous projects that all share the same goals of healing ourselves and our communities, redistributing power and resources to those who have faced historic inequities, and liberating the soil through Indigenous and Black cultivation methods.
