Our Purpose

It is our mission to support and create public art encounters by incorporating art more progressively throughout town centers and providing opportunities to engage and interact with it. We will further develop programs, partnerships and funding streams that make public art projects more viable and sustainable. One of these partnerships is with Roots to Rise, in which we are creating micro herb gardens within our community mural structures. We can foster an extraodinary learning atmosphere by including our youth and developing youth opportunities to create and grow. We believe art belongs in public spaces. Bringing art and agriculture together in our northern communites makes more than just sense. Public art and gardens enliven and improve towns and cities and adds value to public spaces. It also invites engagement and interaction, not just simply observation. Greater well-being can be found when art and growth touch our lives somehow, everyday. It tells us stories and creates dialogues between strangers and neighbors alike. Each of our murals is thoughtfully designed and coordinated. Our first series will represent the deep gratitude to our fellow essential workers. Within each base, of the dozen murals spread throughout 3 towns, will contain a 6x8 herb garden. Each herb garden will have a QR code scannable with a smartphone to direct visitors to Roots to Rise program and educational material relevant to the plants growing. Donations to the program will be accepted.
