In the midst of the COVID crisis, community members in Roxbury (Lower Roxbury & Roxbury/South End area), a predominantly Black and Brown neighborhood in the city of Boston that has been heavily impacted by the pandemic, are attempting to still show up for each other and remember that we are not alone. We created this space to connect with neighbors and support each other because we love our neighborhood and community. We don’t know how long this will last, but we know that we need to lean on one another. There are many people in this community who hold it together, and have held it together for a long time. We are committed to continuing to engage block by block, neighbor by neighbor (in safe ways!) to make sure this is not only an online resource but something accessible to many folks in our neighborhood. We are offering grocery delivery for families in needs, providing social and emotional support for elders, and ensuring that our community members have access to PPE equipment as many of them are frontline workers.
