Our Purpose
Our purpose is to...To promote the quality fo life of all immigrant communities in Boston, MA, working in partnership with immigrant populations and non-profit grass-root organizations sorrounding Boston and twons. We are a dedicated immigrant organization organizing for workers rights, including domestic workers. We do grass-root programs and organize for social justice. We achieve our mission by developing grass-root programs for all immigrant communities. We are committeed to revise our theory of change. When we see progress we reevaluate are goals. 25 Core leader’s members organized a civic engagement participation process to engage domestic workers in civic engagement activities. 300 domestic workers learned about the importance of voting and the civil rights movement in the USA. This space allowed leaders and staff to share the history of the Domestic Workers in USThe DDC was founded in 2007 because of the need to organize the immigrant community under attack.Our constituents are low-income immigrant families, primarily immigrant women and young women residing in different neighborhoods of Boston (including Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Hyde Park, Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury).
