Our purpose is to...address the needs of our town's people during the Covid19 crisis. We have been working in many areas. We feel it is very important to communicate the work being done on behalf of our people so they feel someone is holding the big picture and this instills a sense of stability that is welcomed. We are ensuring that esouces are avaiable like diapers, masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, safety protocols for volunteers, we are delivering food, we are getting the information out and directing people to state and federal programs to feed their families. We are procuring nonessential essentials like tooth paste, pet food, we are fielding calls from many people from other area town's who have heard about our work. We send out town wide mailings to keep those who do not use the internet informed.We do this work because we care. We are all part of the volunteer fire department, 2 of us are EMTs and work with the local ambulance service. We saw there were many needs of our town's people that were not being addresed in a way that instilled confidence and a sense that if we work together we are stronger, and will get through this emergency. We have organized many volunteers and have weekly meetings and post daily/weekly updates.We really could make good use of this grant to help pay for food and supplies for the people, to help pay for volunteer's gas, to help pay for the mailings we are doing and so much more.
