Our Purpose

Our purpose is to...pursue sustainable organic agricultural enterprises linking local food to the community. In this endeavor, Berry Creek Farm primarily provides locally-grown organic produce and products to a rural New England community. We work within the context of a 150-acre piece of mixed wooded and open land, running a symbiotic farm where we pasture animals, keep honeybees, raise chickens, turkeys, and pigs, and grow 5 acres' worth of organic vegetables and strawberries. We also serve as an agricultural education hub in a somewhat economically disadvantaged part of the country, teaching our neighbors and those to whom we provide food what a sustainable farming system can look like in our region. We are mindful of the need to maintain a livable wage for both our workers and the farmer-owners, ensuring the viability of the farming operation for the next generation. We are stewards of our local landscape, and we seek to connect with neighboring farmers, both by selling their goods at our farmstand and through the needs-based connections for equipment and labor that farmers have relied on for generations.
