Plymouth Community Garden
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to provide community gardening space to the greater Plymouth area. We are a community of people who love growing plants, producing food, and mentoring new gardeners. Our goal is to increase access to gardening, provide a learning space for experimentation, and build a sense of community around local food production. We have limited capacity, and are a volunteer run organization, but have big dreams for how our community garden can evolve into the future. This includes enhancing our composting operation, planting pollinator gardens, and improving our perrenial orchard. We are also interested in shiftting more of our plots to no-till management. We already have a few no-till plots for perennials, but we are considering shifting some annual plots to no-till as well. We also wish to improve our irrigation system to make it more efficient and easy to use for all ages. We recently had a Plymouth State University class complete a permaculture design project for the site, and would like to incorporate some of the students' ideas into the garden.
