Our Purpose

We are a service-oriented group that strives to build community through knitting and crocheting. Once a year, we create an out-of-the box project. Our last project was The Tunnel of Love, a canopy of more than 900 hand-stitched flowers installed over a local commuter rail station, which was created over nine months by 111 stitchers from Natick, surrounding towns and beyond. This year we are creating a Climate Change Mural. The concept is based on the trending Temperature Scarf in which Stitchers knit/crochet 2 rows each day with a color corresponding to the day’s temperature. Our Climate Change Mural will be done on a larger scale showing the average monthly temperature for each year 1900-2019 with each decade having its own “strip”. In this manner one can see any average changes for the same month across the decades. The final size of the mural will be 6 feet by 6 feet.
