The mission of the Plastic Free MV is to improve quality of life on the island of Martha’s Vineyard by protecting the health of its residents, safeguarding its pets, and preserving its natural surroundings.  We seek to reduce the plastic waste that blights our communities, clogs our waste streams, chokes our wildlife, squanders our resources, and poisons our earth. We are working on a plastic water and soda bottle ban in all 6 towns on the island. We have been successful in banning plastic bottles in 3 towns so far, and will be working on the next 3 this upcoming school year.
