Our Purpose

Revere on the Move (ROTM) is a collaboration between the City of Revere's Healthy Community Initiatives Department and the MGH Revere CARES Coalition. This collaboration began 10 years ago with the 2009 Mass in Motion grant award, and the expansion of the Revere CARES coalition to address a new priority in the community: obesity and hunger.Revere on the Move works to make healthy choices around food and physical activity readily available and accessible to all Revere residents through changes to policy, systems, environments, and the implementation of some programs. In its 10 years of work, ROTM has gain knowledge and experience in different aspects of the food system and has educated and developed relationships and trust in the community to support more ambitious goals. StrategiesOur policy, systems, and environmental change strategies include:Active Living - Bicycle sharing, bicycle lanes and trails, urban trails, and Complete Streets Policy developmentFood Justice - Revere Farmers Market, community gardens, food economy research and developmentNeighborhood Organizing - leadership building of residents to join or create neighborhood groups to take on healthy eating and active living projects
