Our Purpose

The vision of Beantown Society is to unite youth in Boston across race, class, culture and neighborhood to end youth violence. We believe in changing youth's oppression, neglect-ion, rejection, and depression into youth power. It addresses the oppression that breeds violence in our communities– especially racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, adultism, and the connections between these systems of oppression – by supporting transformation at the individual, societal, and community levels. We work towards this vision by offering a youth-run afterschool program, as well as workshops, projects and events based on youth interests and necessities. We provide a brave space for youth to express themselves, receive one-on-one support, and become leaders in their community. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7bmtdkmh48zpii9/AABY43KkCm3Y6FncrXqdfsHja?dl=...
