Our Purpose

The mission of The Farm at the Malden Community Garden is to reduce food insecurity for residents in the City of Malden and surrounding areas by growing and distributing fresh culturally appropriate produce for our neighbors in need. The Farm's produce is distributed to Bread of Life, a local non-profit volunteer organization serving residents who are hungry and/or homeless in Malden and surrounding cities and towns. Bread of Life distributes boxes of fresh produce and shelf stable dry goods, as well as prepared meals, to those in need. The goal of the Farm is to empower, educate, and inspire local residents to plant, grow, and harvest healthy produce for themselves and their neighbors in need. The mission of the Malden Community Garden is to empower residents of the City of Malden to become active environmental stewards of a communal setting for growing their own produce, plants and flowers. Through their stewardship, garden members become invested community stakeholders, giving back to the community by providing educational gardening events and activities, as well as helping, sharing, and collaborating with other community groups in Malden.
