Indigenous Peoples Network
Our Purpose
The Indigenous People’s Network (IPN), in collaboration with farming groups and environmental organizations, works to strengthen Indigenous culture, land sovereignty, and environmental stewardship through education, organizing, and community action. As the First Peoples of these lands, we have a responsibility to future generations to restore and teach Native ways of life that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Through this work, we advance Land Sovereignty, restore balance with Mother Earth, and inspire environmental and climate justice.IPN brings together Indigenous people from diverse communities, including North, Central, and South America and Indigenous peoples living in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our governance is rooted in a tribal clan leadership structure that honors Indigenous traditions, relationships, collective responsibility, and self-determination.IPN provides administrative, technical, fiscal, program, and organizational development support to affiliate projects and community initiatives. At the heart of our work is “living well”—building relationships that promote harmony among people and with Mother Earth. We seek alternatives to systems based on fear, unlimited growth, dominance, and extraction, while advancing the Indigenous Peoples Justice movement and the struggle for freedom, dignity, self-determination, and healthy communities.
