The purpose of the Morrisville Farmers Market is to provide local farmers and artisan, co-creators alike, an direct-to-consumer outlet to sell local goods that is rooted in the community. Our marketplace is an opportunity to engage in meaningful relationships with neighbors. We have been in existence since the 1970s and our mission has always been to uphold the greater value in the exchange of local goods amongst local people. We honor the organic relationships that form here at the farmers market and we strive to build stronger resilience in our community through a more sustainable sense of place around the seasonal offerings of our region. We believe in having programs to support education on eating local and decreasing our dependence on grocery chains and processed foods, while also promoting a smaller carbon footprint. We work to break down food barriers by actively participating in programs that allow those with EBt/WiC to purchase fresh foods at our market. We also partner with our local food share and gleaning organization because we seek inter-dependence around our local food supply. Our goal is to foster resilience in our local economy, and to empower all people within the community.
