On August 16, 2010 the City Council passed Sustainability RESOLVE #1-10/11, committing South Portland staff and stakeholders to implement the actions outlined in the City's Climate Action Plan. This resolve created our in-house Sustainability Committee to lead municipal efforts, calling for one person from each City department to be represented on the committee. Our purpose is to help the City's Sustainability Coordinator 1) gather information, 2) develop recommendations for sustainability policies, programs and projects, and 3) carry out these recommendations across City Departments.
