Our Purpose

The Cape Ann Climate Coalition (CACC) was formed to increase the effectiveness of many small nonprofits and individuals working on climate change issues and to include those who wanted to start. We felt that together, we could all work stronger, faster, and more efficiently by sharing skills, interests, and knowledge. The CACC is a loosely formed group with few “rules.” Membership from the four municipalities of Cape Ann has dramatically grown over the last 2 years. Member participation (250) varies from strong interest but limited time because of work-family commitments to Action group members who commit hours weekly. The Organizing Committee, consisting of 10-15 members, meets monthly to:* receive feedback from Action group leaders on projects, suggestions, help needed, etc.  * provide communication between Action Groups and all CACC members.* Organize exciting and supportive “ All member Meetings” 4xs a year.* Ensure requests to join CACC participate in a “Connecting with CACC” meeting plus introductions to other like-minded members. We want to continue our work stronger and better because of the “Code Red” for the planet and lagging commitments to act. “The 2021 IPCC Report:  a “Code RED for Human drive climate change. Climate change is widespread, rapid, intensifying, and some trends are now irreversible, at least during the present time frame.”
