Our Purpose

Our purpose is to identify and, where possible, remove or control invasive plants on public and land trust lands in Harpswell.  We also plan to do community outreach on invasive plants so that the people living here better understand a) why invasives can endanger our community; b) how to identify them; c) how best to control or eliminate them; and d) how to become better stewards of both our private and common lands. The Harpswell Invasive Plant Partnership (HIPP) is a cooperative effort of the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust, the Harpswell Town Lands Committee, the Harpswell Conservation Commission, the Harpswell Recreation Committee, the Mitchell Field Committee, the Harpswell Garden Club, and local citizens.
