Change the World Kids
Our Purpose
Change the World Kids is a local, diverse group run by teenagers dedicated to make positive change. Our goal is to assist individuals in need, work to improve our communities, and steward the natural world. We initiate humanitarian projects to create a more just, safe, and sustainable world, and environmental projects to strengthen resilience and biodiversity, locally and globally. While doing so, we learn life-skills and offer challenges that have changed our lives, our families, and our communities. Annually we provide over 8,000 hours of local help and 3,900 hours of environmental and humanitarian work in our global community.Locally, we shovel snow, stack firewood, move furniture, offer weekly Anti-Cabin Fever Dinners during the winter. Requests for help cross generations and socio-economic situations. We believe that this type of service helps to provide emotional and physical security for our neighbors. We are grateful to accomplish this in our community. Our Food Justice Gardens provide fresh organic produce to the Woodstock Food Shelf and food insecure families year around. In our root cellar we store thousands of pounds of produce that we distribute during the winter months. We serve as a primary collaborative partner to the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica. Since 2004 have planted over 45,000 trees to reforest critical migratory songbird and riparian habitat. Our motto: "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something".
