We are a group of Lowell residents working to encourage bicycling as a viable transportation alternative by commissioning and installing artist-designed bike racks at several key locations throughout the city, such as the public library, heavily trafficked shopping areas, and the National Park Visitor Center. The bike racks will preferentially use upcycled materials and found objects from Lowell’s historic mill buildings, and the designs will reflect and reference Lowell’s rich history.
