WHAT: Join fellow community innovators & activists for a day of skills-sharpening, designed especially for the grassroots! Come celebrate community action, share stories, learn and reflect on different skills that make us successful.
WHY: The RootSkills Networking & Training retreat is intended to re-invigorate us all, gives us a chance to reflect on our work, and work on the skills we need to be successful. It is also a great chance to connect with other community leaders, share ideas, and relax.
WHO: You and up to 5 other members of your group.
WHEN: Friday April 10 & Saturday April 11
WHERE: New Bedford, MA
COST: NEGEF heavily subsidizes this event to make it affordable for grassroots volunteer groups. The registration fee is $95 which includes all of the events (Friday dinner, reception, lodging, Saturday breakfast, lunch & workshops) OR $40 for Saturday workshops & lunch.
TRAVEL: We want to work with you to make it as easy as possible for you to get to New Bedford. We will set up a carpool list to help you find a ride if you need one and are exploring options to bring people in from Boston (MA), Providence (RI) and New Haven (CT).
CHILDCARE: We get that it isn't easy to free up a Saturday, let alone an overnight. However, we think this is a unique opportunity and really want as diverse an audience as we can get. Please indicate on the registration form whether you need assistance with childcare. We have a limited pool of funds available to give our childcare stipends to help people find coverage at home. Final amounts will depend on the need/demand. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
