Our Purpose

The Casco Bay Invasive Species Network (CBISN) is a regional network of conservationists, land managers, and other professionals dedicated to awareness and management of non-native invasive species in and around Casco Bay.  These species include terrestrial and aquatic plants such as Oriental bittersweet and Eurasian milfoil, marine organisms such as green crab, and insects such as winter moth.Currently focused primarily on control of terrestrial invasive plants, CBISN helps facilitate training and communication among practitioners and others concerned with invasive species. The Network maintains an awareness of other invasive organisms, with a strong focus on education and monitoring.
