Ma'yan Tikvah
Our Purpose
Ma'yan Tikvah - A Wellspring of Hope connects people to Judaism, nature, social justice, and each other through outdoor Jewish experiences and education. We seek to build a transformative community of people who feel deeply connected to the natural world, Jewish tradition, and each other, and who strive to build a just and sustainable world through their expression of Jewish values.Judaism Outdoors is a new initiative and aimed primarily at young adults in their 20s and 30s in the Metrowest Boston area and providing unique and enticing outdoor programming with a Jewish foundation. Programs vary in their target group, some geared for adults only and others designed for families with young children. Programming is designed to 1) reach unaffiliated and/or interfaith families who are seeking an alternative experience of Judaism, 2) provide outdoor opportunities for all who who are interested in Earth-based Judaism and community service, 3) reach those who are searching for a Jewish community but prefer to spend their time outdoors, and 4) create a welcoming environment for interfaith couples and families by having programs in the shared environment of nature. Programs take place 2-3 weekends per month and include both Shabbat and Sunday events. Every event focuses on one or more Jewish values, a holiday, and/or a Torah connection.
