Our purpose is to... form a community garden.  We are a small city (Meadows Place, TX) hidden in plain sight!  We are looking to start a community garden to show larger cities that even small cities (ours is only about 1 square mile) can contribute to society and also teach children at the local elementary about growing vegetables and about self sustaining.  The elementary school (Meadows Elementary) plans to use one of the two above ground box gardens with which we want to start.  We already have a small group of citizens ready and willing and the city itself has donated land use.  We simply have to get the correct paperwork and start up materials to make this a reality!We would use the money to help file the necessary paperwork to create a legal entity and a 501(c)3 and hopefully to get the above ground beds built as well as buy starter plants.
